Google Eliminates Language Barriors
By Dwight Ankle
As always, Apple started a trend. Last year they removed the headphone jack from their Iphone 7, since that bold move the industry as responded to it by dropping the headphone jacks off their phones, and now google's pixels 2 as drop it with their recent release. Now apple as remedied this with their apple airpods, but google plans to take the lead from them and go a step forward past just bluetooth headphones
Imagine being like Tony Stark having your own computer in your ear listening to commands you give like making phone calls, and setting appointments or getting directions, without taking your phone out at all. The pixels buds are touch sensitive making it able to touch your earbud and ask google assistant to play music, remind you of incoming and important events on your calendar, alert you for that incoming text you were waiting for, read that text to you if your hands are full
So having your own assistant in your ear is cool but it's not the awe factor in these headphones. Along with google translate and pixel you could instantly be bilingual!. Pixel Buds can translate between languages in real time. Say you're in france and you want to order something from the menu of a restaurant as you talk the pixel phones speaker will play the translation. And when the waiter replies in french the translation will be played through your headphones. If you prefer other food from other countries google pixel buds support 40 different languages.
Now unfortunately, the only catch is in order to use the amazing features of google assistant and real time google translate you would have to purchase google's pixel 2 phone. Its google's way of responding to apples elimination of the jack which mean if order to use apple headphones you would have to essentially buy an Iphone. But the technology used the headphones can eventually be applied to other things meaning we are now a step closer to being one world . google pixel buds come in 3 different colors Just Black, Clearly Whites, Kinda Blue. They will be available in November for 159 in the U.S.
