Halloween at UHS

This year at University High School of Newark, NJ, the UHS family went all out for Halloween for the 2017 year.

The staff and students have surprised everyone around them with the outrageous costumes. We had a Bride of Chucky, Elasti-Girl from the Incredibles, a 90’s baby, Gina and Pam from the well-known TV show Martin, and a team of Teachers came together and dressed up as the main characters of Toy Story.

Our cast of Toy Story was Ms. Dean as one of the many Army Men, Mr.  Connolly as Woody, Ms. Ruesta as Jesse, Mr. Fourre as Al, Mrs. Coppola and Mrs. Jones as Mr. Potato Head, Mrs. Dunker-Ware as Mrs. Potato Head, and Mr. Hood as Buzz Lightyear.

It was Halloween to remember. Usually, there aren't many staff and students that dress up for this holiday. However, showed out this time. Actually, there were more teachers showing out with the costumes more than students. The students that did dress up, were typical costumes like a witch, a schoolgirl/nerd, or a cat. Some even threw on a mask or smeared blood on their faces and called it a costume. Someone even showed up with a “This Is My Costume!” t-shirt.

Halloween as UHS has been a total success this year, even though the seniors, Class of 2018, did not get the honor to host the annual Haunted House. It was still a good day. Maybe next year's seniors will get to start that up again.
