The Junior Entrepreneur’s Club (J.E.C.) at University High School
Every Tuesday starting in October, a select amount of students have been participating in University’s Junior Entrepreneur’s Club.
The program offers a creative variety of experience and training at-risk youth and young adults from ages 11-24. These experiences prepares participants for future academic, employment and business opportunities.
Regarding the program, I’ve spoken to my classmate, Nefertiti Cooper, and she explained that “during J.E.C, her and other members of the club do many hands-on activities to experience that assists them in achieving personal, academic and career goals.” One of the many activities that they do are paperwork. The participants brainstorm business ideas in which they have interests in.
Along with learning how to be an entrepreneur, students in the club also are paid for every session in which they attend. What can be better than being paid for learning? This shows how the Junior Entrepreneur’s Club is beneficial in not only education, but financial as well. You are able to have some extra pocket change to walk around with.
JEC seems like a good program for students
